Family, Nature, Tradition
"A belief in working with the head, hand and heart and mixing enough play with the work so that every task is pleasurable and makes for health and happiness."
- John Ruskin
At Tamburn Manor we're focused on developing our mountain homestead and a thriving arts and crafts business, while simultaneously homeschooling a family of ten children. Inspired by the Arts and Crafts movement of William Morris and the Roycrofters, our project seeks to cultivate an environment of creativity and craftsmanship alongside an education formed by the classical liberal arts tradition and the heroic literature of our European heritage. Eventually we hope to turn our endeavors into an on-site classical school for young men in the Appalachians to join us in studying the classics and learning traditional hand-craft trades, all in the beautiful setting of the Shenandoah Valley.
